During WWII he advanced several peace proposals, did much to aid war victims, and, following the war, maintained a staunch anti-Communist stand. Apostolic blessing, signed "Pius pp. XII," one page, 11.25 x 15.25, December 10, 1953. A handsome apostolic blessing for “Doctor and Mrs. Maurice Costello,” featuring a calligraphic inscription and an affixed circular photo of Pius. In fine condition, with a trivial chip to the upper right corner tip.
