Impressive illuminated manuscript apostolic benediction, signed "Pius PP XI," one page, 13 x 19.5, boasting a large affixed portrait of Pope Pius. An apostolic blessing in Italian, in full (translated): "The undersigned Procurator General of the African Missions of Verona prostrate at the kiss of the Holy Foot asks Your Holiness for the sisters Eloisa and Emilia Grimaldi and their respective families the Apostolic Blessing.” Prominently signed at the conclusion in ink by Pope Pius XI. In fine condition, with silvering to the edges of the image, and lightly trimmed rippled edges.
