Pope, born Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacello (1876-1958), who reigned from 1939 until his death. During WWII he advanced several peace proposals, did much to aid war victims, and, following the war, maintained a staunch anti-Communist stand. World War II-dated manuscript apostolic blessing, signed "Pius pp. XII," one page, 11.25 x 15.25, March 27, 1945. An illuminated apostolic blessing for “Nell Moorman,” featuring a calligraphic inscription and an affixed photo of Pope Pius XII, who signs neatly at the bottom. In fine condition.
