Franking signature as president, “J. Tyler,” on a 5.5 x 3.25 postal cover addressed in his hand to the secretary of state, marked “private,” and bearing a Washington, D.C. postmark. The flap retains its red wax “President U.S.” seal. Wrinkling and a hint of mild soiling, otherwise fine, bright condition. The signature is large, dark, and generally unaffected.
