Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Delaware (1734-1817) who later served as president of the Continental Congress, Chief Justice of Pennsylvania, and Governor of Pennsylvania. Partly-printed DS, signed “Tho. M:Kean,” one page both sides, 8.25 x 13.5, September 12, 1788. Official Land-Office of Pennsylvania land grant document issued to Jacob Downing for "a grant of a tract of land, containing four hundred acres…in the county of Northumberland." Signed at the conclusion in ink by Thomas McKean as Chief Justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services.
