World War II-dated TLS, one page, 7.25 x 11, personal letterhead, November 7, 1942. Letter to Nancy Katzenberg, in full: “Through a mutual friend I heard of you, and I’m writing this note to say hello and wish you all sorts of good luck. I understand you’ve had a pretty tough time, but are keeping your chin up.” Berlin adds a handwritten postscript, which he signs with his initials: “P.S. I am sending you under separate cover a set of my songs from the Army show. I. B.” In fine condition, with a few small stains in the bottom blank area. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
