Group of six original vintage press and wire photos of Al Capone's Miami estate, jailhouse residences, cemetery, and wife, circa 1931 to 1947, ranging in size from 4 x 8.5 to 8 x 10, all with captions and news stamps on the reverse. Subjects include: a photo of Cook County Jail in Illinois, with an arrow indicating Al Capone's jail cell (1931); a photo of the transport barge to Alcatraz Island, carrying Capone and 42 other federal offenders to the penitentiary (1934); an aerial view of Al Capone's palatial Miami estate (1937); a photo of Al Capone's wife, Mae, after a visit to Alcatraz (1938); a portrait of Al Capone in a suit and tie (1947); and a photo of the receiving vault at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Chicago, where Capone's body was reportedly brought after his death in Miami (1947). In overall very good to fine condition, with some scattered creasing and minor edge tears.
