Bailey," one page, 8.25 x 10.75, ornate, information-laden, and visually striking Barnum and Bailey Greatest Show on Earth letterhead, January 12, 1900. Letter to Septimus Dixon. In part: "As you say in your favor of 9th instant 'figures are sometimes very puzzling.' How my clerk could have possibly made the error he did, I cannot understand. It is such a small amount that I will not trouble to send you another check but will add it to me [sic] next one when it falls due." In fine condition, with some light creasing to the upper right corner. In addition to the stunning letterhead, this features Bailey's uncommon full signature—he generally signed using only his initials.
