Prominent and sometimes controversial American clergyman, orator, and abolitionist (1813-1887) who was the brother of Uncle Tom's Cabin author Harriet Beecher Stowe. AQS signed "H. W. Beecher," on an off-white 4.75 x 4 sheet, in full: "Confidence as a gentleman of standing in his own home, and not unknown to the whole country." In fine condition, with a faint offset image of Beecher in the lower left corner. Accompanied by an unsigned engraved portrait.
