Group of five vintage Life and Time magazines from the personal collection of Apollo 12 moonwalker Alan Bean, three of which contain affixed address labels directing the magazine to “Alan L. Bean” or “Mr. A. Bean.” The magazines include:
- Time magazine from February 3, 1967, with front cover image of Apollo 1 astronauts Gus Grissom, Ed White II, and Roger Chaffee
- Life magazine from February 3, 1967, with a front cover image of Apollo 1 astronauts under bold black text: “The Three Astronauts”
- Life magazine from February 10, 1967, with the front cover showing Gus Grissom’s caisson at Arlington, with white text: “The Nation's Goodby”
- Special edition of Life magazine from August 11, 1969, with a cover image of Buzz Aldrin on the lunar surface during the Apollo 11 mission, his visor showing a reflection of the photographer, Neil Armstrong
- Life magazine from December 12, 1969, with a cover image of an Apollo EVA and bold white text: “Apollo 12, On The Moon.”
In overall very good to fine condition, with scattered wear to edges, and some stains. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Amy Bean, the daughter of Alan Bean.
