Alan Bean’s collection of eight commemorative medallions, bronze and copper, ranging in size from 1.5˝ to 2.5˝ in diameter, and in weight from 37 to 243 gm, each featuring attractive embossed designs honoring American and Soviet achievements in space, including: an Apollo 12 medallion (with original Wellings case); two Apollo 12 medals by the Medallic Art Company; a Voskhod 2 medal; an Apollo–Soyuz Test Project medal; a medal from the Romanian Commission for Space Activities (Intercosmos Council) honoring the Soyuz 40 mission; a McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company medal honoring ‘Man’s Conquest of Space, One Giant Step (encased in Lucite); and an Apollo 11 medal with an equation to the reverse. In overall fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Amy Bean, the daughter of Alan Bean.
