Description

Career United States Army officer (1877–1970) who became the Army's first African American general officer upon his promotion to brigadier general in 1940. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Benjamin O. Davis, Sr., in uniform, signed in fountain pen, "B. O. Davis, Brig. Gen. U.S.A., Spanish American War, World Wars I and II." Reverse bears a Signal Corps credit stamp. In fine condition, with scattered light surface impressions.
