Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 8 x 10, February 26, 1859. President Buchanan directs the Secretary of State to affix the Seal of the United States to “a Proclamation of the President, convening the Senate of the United States, on the 5th of March, next.” Signed neatly at the conclusion by James Buchanan. In very good to fine condition, with faint toning to the edges and folds, and a vertical crease to the left side.
