British army officer (1732–1775) who served in the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War, known for leading the grenadier battalion in their charge of the redoubt on the Americans' left wing at the Battle of Bunker Hill; he was mortally wounded during the assault on Breed's Hill. Bold ink signature, "Ja's Abercrombie,” on an off-white 4.75 x 1 slip, affixed to a larger sheet annotated with biographical information. In fine condition.
