Magnificent Royal Christmas card from 1955 with an embossed golden crown on the front, measuring 13.75 x 8.25 open, the inside featuring an attractive photo of the Queen Mother standing near a gate on the grounds of the Castle of Mey, signed and inscribed in black ink on the adjacent page to her 7-year-old grandson, Prince Charles, the future King of England, “Darling Charles, from Granny.” The affixed picture has been enriched with crayons, with the ground, sky, grass, the Queen Mother’s clothing, and even the dog now colorized; perhaps the work of a creative young prince? In fine condition, with two smudges near the face area. A rare and touching memento between head members of the royal family.
