Magnificent vintage matte-finish 10 x 13 portrait photo of Eisenhower wearing his ‘four-star’ military uniform in a bust-length pose, matted to an overall size of 15.75 x 20, signed and inscribed on the mat in black ink, "For The Honorable Franklin G. Floete, with best wishes and personal regard for a distinguished American, Dwight D. Eisenhower.” The mat bears a printed date of April 9, 1957, which indicates that this photo was signed by Eisenhower as president. In fine condition, with light toning to the mat from prior display. Franklin G. Floete was an American businessman (1887–1973) who served as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Properties and Installations from 1953 to 1956 and as Administrator of the General Services Administration from 1956 to 1961.
