Description

King of Great Britain and Ireland (1765–1837) from 1830 to 1837, he earned the sobriquet 'Sailor King' for his youthful service in the Royal Navy. Twice-signed ADS as “William R.” and “W. R.,” one page, 7.75 x 3, December 1835. A handwritten directive from King William IV: “Provided these Officers give their Words of Honour as Officers and gentlemen they will not proceed to the Peninsula.” Signed at the top and bottom by the king. In fine condition.
