Partly-printed DS, signed “Victoria R.,” one page, 16 x 12, January 15, 1887. The queen appoints George William Powell as a “Quartermaster in Our Volunteer Forces.” Signed above the original paper seal in the upper left corner by Queen Victoria. Affixed to a same-size cardstock mount and in very good condition, with toning and foxing, and staining in the area of Victoria's somewhat faded signature.
