Two documents affiliated with the Erie Canal, including: a bond certificate of the Erie Canal Company in the amount of $100, one page, 9.5 x 6.75, April 1, 1845, signed in ink by the company's president and secretary; and a partly-printed DS signed "DeWitt Clinton," one page, 6.75 x 4.5, December 9, 1811, ordering a payment of $89 to John A. Crolius. Clinton signs as the mayor of New York City; he would also serve as a United States Senator and a Governor of New York, and was instrumental in the building of the Erie Canal. Attractively cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and plaque to an overall size of 28.5 x 28.75. In fine condition.
