Uncommon passport-style athlete's identification booklet issued to German hurdler Gisela Birkemeyer for the Rome 1960 Summer Olympics, 3.25 x 4.5, gilt-stamped on the front with the emblem of the Games: Romulus and Remus with the Capitoline Wolf, surmounting Olympic rings. Issued as "No. 09762," the booklet has Birkemeyer's portrait and signature inside, identifying her nationality, address, and profession. In fine condition. A two-time Olympic medalist, Birkemeyer earned bronze for her third-place finish in the 80-meter hurdles in 1960.
