Desirable AQS by the celebrated transcendentalist poet, penned inside a 19th-century 8.5 x 6.75 hardcover autograph album, in full: "No fate, save by the victim's fault, is low, / For God hath writ all dooms magnificent, / So guilt not traverses his tender will. R. Waldo Emerson, Concord, Mass'tts, April '78." Further pages contain signatures and verses from friends and minor local figures, with a few interesting samples of period penmanship and a sketch of a castle. In very good to fine condition, with toning to the page, affecting only appearance.
