Financier and banker John Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) is remembered for dominating corporate finance on Wall Street throughout the Gilded Age as head of the banking firm now known as J. P. Morgan & Co. Partly-printed DS, signed along the left edge by J. Pierpont Morgan as a transfer agent as “Drexel, Morgan & Co,” one page, 11.5 x 8, March 2, 1881. Stock certificate issued to “J. S. Morgan & Co., London, Eng.,” for five shares in the St. Louis Bridge Company. In fine condition, with the usual cancellation holes.
