Appealing hollow metal bust sculpture of Franklin D. Roosevelt, 3.5″ x 10″ x 5.25″, with the base engraved with FDR's facsimile signature and the name of the artist, Jo Davidson. The back and side of the neck are also engraved with the artist's name and a copyright date of 1934. In fine condition. At the end of 1933 and the beginning of 1934, Franklin Roosevelt sat several times for sculptor Jo Davidson at the White House. This bust is a miniature version of the resulting bronze bust of FDR completed by Davidson in 1934. A similar example resides in the collection of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum.
