Ring-bound official NASA manual entitled “Apollo Operations Handbook Command/Service Modules CSM 113 and 114, Volume 2 Operational Procedures," (SD 70-220 / MSC-04904), (NAS9-150, SA578; 500-S49, DRL Line Item No. 50), prepared by North American Rockwell under the direction of the Crew Procedure Division Systems Procedures Branch. The manual, approximately 1053 pages, 8″ x 10.5″ x 3″, dated October 1, 1971, contains the flight crew operational procedures for all J-series spacecraft, which at this juncture, were Apollo 16 CSM-113 ‘Casper’ and the Apollo 17 CSM-114 ‘America.’ It’s composed of two main sections, “4. Normal / Backup Procedures” and “5. Contingency Procedures,” each containing a large family of subsections, like “Backup Crew Prelaunch Checks,” “Prime Crew Prelaunch Checks,” “Boost and Insertion,” “Injections,” “Systems Management,” “G&C Reference Data,” “Rendezvous,” “Lm Interface & EVA Activities,” “Thrusting,” “Lunar Orbit Experiments,” “Abort Procedures,” “Malfunction Procedures,” “Emergency Procedures,” and “Extended Emergency Returns.” In fine condition, with a missing upper left corner tip to front cover, a couple of torn punch holes to covers, slight edgewear, and some foxing and stains to covers and textblocks.
