King of Italy (1869-1947) who reigned from July 29, 1900, until his abdication on May 9, 1946. He also reigned as Emperor of Ethiopia (1936-1941) and King of the Albanians (1939-1943). During his reign of nearly 46 years, which began after the assassination of his father Umberto I, the Kingdom of Italy became involved in two world wars. His reign also encompassed the birth, rise, and fall of Italian Fascism and its regime. Vintage matte-finish 8.5 x 12.5 photo of King Victor Emmanuel III in his military uniform by Bettini of Rome, signed in the lower border in fountain pen, "Victor Emmanuel, 1932." In fine condition, with faint toning and lightly trimmed edges.
