Varick later served as Washington's private secretary, mayor of New York, and a New York state legislator. Boldly penned third-person ADS from Richard Varick, who signs his name a total of 14 times throughout the document’s six total pages, 8.25 x 13.25, May 30, 1800. A legal draft document between Richard Varick and Peter B. Ten Broeck, Sheriff of Columbia Co, N.Y., which resulted in a sheriff’s sale of property owned by Philip L. Hoffman (former member N.Y. Assembly) to satisfy a debt owed by Hoffman. In very good condition, with staining, area of paper loss, and some substantial splitting to the horizontal folds.
