Collection of 113 pins from past Summer and Winter Olympics, as well as a variety of international field hockey events and organizations, with the pins nearly equally represented—59 Olympic pins and 53 field hockey pins. A highlight of the collection is a presidential seal stickpin that was presented to the owner of this collection, Diane Moyer, a goalkeeper for the Team USA women’s field hockey team that won a bronze medal at the Los Angeles 1984 Summer Olympics. Moyer was given this pin by President Ronald Reagan during a five-day publicity tour for Team USA’s medal winners.
The Olympic pins include: Lake Placid 1980, Moscow 1980, Los Angeles 1984, Seoul 1988, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, and Beijing 2008. These pins also contain media and sponsor variants, such as Adidas, Coca-Cola, IBM, Kodak, Levis, Maxwell House, Motorola, and Xerox, and four pins for the 1987 U.S. Olympic Festival in North Carolina.
The field hockey pins, by country: Australia, Barbados, Canada, Fiji, Germany, India, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, and Trinidad and Tobago. Also includes four United States Field Hockey Association pins.
