The Diane Moyer Collection

There was nary a sport that La Salle College standout Diane Moyer didn?t excel in. The Muhlenburg High School product was a four-year letter winner in field hockey and softball, she lettered twice in basketball, and she was a two-year member of the swimming and diving program. Such well-roundedness enabled her to become the first female athlete ever to be inducted into La Salle''s Hall of Athletes in 1985.

After helping the La Salle Explorers field hockey squad to an AIAW Division II National Championship, Moyer, one of the country?s top goaltenders, joined the United States national team in preparation for the Moscow 1980 and the Los Angeles 1984 Summer Olympics. The USA famously boycotted the 1980 Games, but Moyer made Olympic history when she and the 1984 American team won the bronze medal in Los Angeles.
