Description

American engineer (1866-1945) who developed the first submarine to operate successfully on the open seas. ALS signed “Simon,” one page both sides, 8.5 x 11, The Emerson of Baltimore letterhead, May 31, 1936. Handwritten letter to "Gene," in part: "Did Connolly call after I left—did you send him a copy of the letter I sent…I wish you would get in touch with him as soon as you receive this letter as I cannot get back until late Monday night & he should go to or get in touch with the court on Monday morning to stave off judgment if possible. McCoy thinks that he & Houston can get the money, he introduced me to a friend…who he says is worth 2,000,000. I am to have lunch with him at the Army & Navy Club in Worthington tomorrow & expect to see Egeroff & the F. H. A. people on Deutch plans in the morning. Tell John I have not been able to get in touch with the Architect Deutch." In fine condition.
