Landis, in part: "I assume from my previous conversation that you will be willing to accept payments on account or possibly to sell the account to me and give me some time to liquidate it, which I now believe I can do, say at the rate of $50.00 per month. On this assumption, I am sending you a check for $25000 to apply on account of same. If this is not satisfactory, kindly set another date after this week for a further conference." Lake adds in his own hand at the conclusion, "For the Lake Submarine Salvage Comp." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light staining.
