Description

Desirable $1000 bond of the County of Yuba, California, for the Yuba Rail Road Company issued February 13, 1866, 15.75 x 15.5, with 18 coupons intact at the bottom. The certificate features four allegorical vignette images. In fine condition, with a rusty paperclip mark to the right edge.

The Yuba Railroad Company was organized in November, 1862, for the purpose of constructing a railroad from the town of Lincoln, in Placer County, to Marysville, in Yuba County, being an extension of the California Central Railroad from Folsom to Lincoln.
