German theologian and Lutheran pastor (1892-1984) who is best known for his opposition to the Nazi regime during the 1930s. Three items: a vintage matte-finish 3.25 x 5.25 portrait of Niemoller in a suit and tie, signed in fountain pen; a vintage matte-finish 3.75 x 5.75 portrait of Niemoller in his clerical collar, signed in fountain pen; and a TLS, one page, 8 x 10.75, August 11, 1958, in part: "I found a picture which I signed and I send it to you with very cordial greetings and all good wishes." In overall very good to fine condition, with edge creasing and a repaired fold tear to the fragile typed letter; the two photos are fine. Accompanied by two original mailing envelopes and an unsigned letter.
