Description

A caveat from the Perry Mason author: "The book situation is rather ticklish these days"

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal Rancho Del Paisano letterhead (with printed desert landscape), February 3, 1959. Letter to Douglas Seaman Cole, in part: "I think you have some darn good material and if you want to start putting it together I'll be glad to give you a letter of introduction to the staff of William Morrow & Company, which publishes my books. Heaven knows whether anything would come of it, as their list is small and, of course, the book situation is rather ticklish these days. But if you feel like taking a crack at it I'll be glad to put you in touch with some very able editors." In fine condition, with a paperclip impression to the upper left corner.
