Description

Union Army general (1829-1887) in the Civil War, who commanded the 51st New York Volunteer Infantry in IX Corps at Second Bull Run. Uncommon 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite photo of Potter in uniform by Mathew Brady, signed in ink, "Robert B. Potter, Brig. Genl." In fine condition, with a thin light stain to the lower left corner.
