Union brigadier general (1811-1892) who commanded a brigade at the Battle of Cedar Mountain, where he was captured; he was released later in the year, and went on to command troops in the Rapidan Campaign and participate in the pursuit of Forrest's raiders. Choice 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite photo of Prince in uniform, signed at the bottom of the image in ink, "Henry Prince, Brig. Gen. Vols." In fine condition.
