Autograph album, 5 x 3.25, signed inside in blue ballpoint by Ringo Starr, with the adjacent page bearing an affixed mustache, 4.5″ in length, that was used as a prop in the music video for the song, ‘Stop and Take the Time to Smell the Roses,’ which was filmed at the Brooklands Raceway in Surrey, England in early 1981. In fine condition, with light stains to the signature page.
Accompanied by a newspaper clipping about the video, a candid photo of the marching band from the video, and by a letter of provenance from the original recipient: “I was a member of the marching band that appeared in the video…I was 11 years old and played the side snare drum in the second row. The marching band was the Wickford Youth Band and Majorettes…I remember Ringo and his wife arriving in a helicopter then getting changed into his American Highway Cop outfit. Ringo was very generous with his time speaking to everyone and signing autographs. This was when I got this signature. The fake mustache worn by my dad…in the video. My dad can be seen standing beside a white Toyota Hiace caravanette in a trench coat holding a French stick!”
