Description

Historian and Labor Zionist leader (born 1884) who was the longest-serving President of Israel, from 1952 until his death in 1963. TLS in Hebrew, one page, 7 x 8.5, General Council of the Jewish Community of Palestine letterhead, June 9, 1946. Letter to Comrade Zalman Pevsner of Lebanon Publishing, in full (translated): "You will surely be interested to know that Amram has already returned from his military service, after serving for six full years. Now I have a small request for you. Let me know if you have a collection of Ladino newspapers that were published in Turkey and outside of Turkey throughout the existence of that press. Do you have a list? What was the first newspaper and other such details. I am looking forward to your answer. Greetings from Rachel." In very good to fine condition, with light creasing, and scattered stains.
