ADS, signed three times, “R. B. Taney,” one page, 7.75 x 12.75, no date but circa 1806. Document written as the plaintiff's attorney in a case regarding the collection of a promissory note. In part: "Whereupon the said Alexander by R. B. Taney his attorney saith that whereas the said Thomas on the fourth day of September in the year eighteen hundred and five at Frederick County aforesaid by his certain bill obligatory did promise to pay six months after date…the sum of seventeen pounds fourteen shillings current money." The document is signed by Taney within the text, at the conclusion, and on the docketing panel. In fine condition, with a few small edge splits.
