Letter to Pennsylvania Governor Andrew Gregg Curtin, in part: "Your kind note was received, and I feel myself under great obligation for its suggestion which I shall not fail to avail myself of, if occasion requires. But the present indications are that the ailment under which I have been suffering, was generated by miasmatic influences to which I had been exposed, and acquired its serious form by want of care & medical treatment." In fine condition. Accompanied by an engraving of Stanton bearing a preprinted signature.
