Vandervoort as a "First Lieutenant in the Thirty fifth regiment of Infantry, United States Volunteers." Signed at the conclusion by McKinley, and countersigned by Secretary of War Elihu Root. Blue War Office seal remains affixed to lower left corner. In very good condition, with creasing and toning, staining to the right margin, and three tears to the left edge.
