Texas politician (1812-1883) who served as the fifth and 13th governor of Texas. Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “E. M. Pease,” one page, 15.25 x 12, November 12, 1855. Land grant in which Richard Danzey is granted 440 acres in the Liberty District of Polk County. Signed at the conclusion by Pease as governor, and countersigned by Stephen Crosby as commissioner of the General Land Office. Lower portion features embossed seals of the State of Texas and the General Land Office. In very good to fine condition, with some light toning, and a stain from the Certificate of Record affixed to the reverse.
