Letter to Lazard Kahn, in part: "The problems we have before us are by no means fully solved, but I hope that we have made some progress and that we possible better understand now what the problems are than when we began. Such letters as yours are full of encouragement and nerve us to the belief that we can make a successful government for these people who so badly need good government." In very good to fine condition, with soiling, staple holes, and show-through from copious notations on the reverse.
