Description

Partly-printed DS as president, signed “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 22.75 x 18.75, May 31, 1909. President Taft appoints Samuel T. Lee, of Michigan, as "Consul of the United States of America at San Jose, Costa Rica." Signed at the conclusion by Taft, and countersigned by Secretary of State Philander C. Knox. White wafer seal remains affixed to lower portion, as does the red seal of Costa Rica. In fine condition, with intersecting folds, and scattered creasing, toning, and light stains to the margins.
