"I have been talking far and wide on the theme of religion and science"

Nobel Prize-winning physicist (1868-1953) who was the first to isolate the electron and measure its charge. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, California Institute of Technology letterhead, July 11, 1950. Letter to Tenney Williams, in full: "I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your letter of July 9th and to say that I have been talking far and wide on the theme of religion and science and if you think it worth-while to repeat the same idea before your group at the Church of Our Saviour some Sunday morning, I shall try to do as you wish, although any talk on this theme which would be of use would take something like a half hour." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing, and light toning along one of the intersecting folds.
