American humorist, writer, illustrator, and cartoonist (1889-1966) who wrote and illustrated many books and was a contributor to various national magazines. Fantastic original comic art by Don Herold, accomplished in graphite and ink on an off-white 14.25 x 12 sheet of artist’s cardstock, signed in the lower portion by Harold. The single panel comic depicts a pair of 'fat cats,' the men seated in large cushy chairs with newspapers and lit cigars, with captioning below reading: "First Clubman: Jim's wife insists that he give her a regular allowance. Second Clubman: Darn these women that want alimony and won't leave home to get it." Reverse bears a "Life Publishing Company" copyright stamp. In fine condition, with light overall soiling and tack holes to corners.
