Description

Tomas Masaryk

Founder and first President of Czechoslovakia (1850-1937). ALS in Czech, signed “Tomas G. Masaryk, Univ. Prof. v Prague,” one page, 4.5 x 7, February 19, 1891. Letter to the executive town office in Susice, in full (translated): "I would like to inform this honorable Town-office about my candidacy/nomination to the Bohemian National Parliament where I will represent several towns from your area, including your town. I would like to ask for your kindly support." In fine condition, with a short split along the horizontal fold, and light staining to the upper left edge.
