Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “George R,” one page, 13.5 x 9, October 24, 1795. King George appoints William Dawson as a "Lieutenant…in our Thirty fourth (or the Cumberland) Regiment of Foot commanded by our Trusty and Welbeloved General Frederick Cavendish commonly called Lord Frederick Cavendish." Boldly signed in the upper left by King George III and countersigned at the conclusion by the Duke of Portland. The embossed seal affixed to the upper left remains intact. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light toning.
