Marked ‘private,’ a letter to his lawyer, Thomas Bristowe Young, in full: “Mr. Jones wishes you to see me respecting some affairs with wh[ich] you are acquainted. This is indeed, in every respect desirable, as he labors under the misconception as to circumstances wh[ich] you, as a man of business, would at once understand. I propose, therefore, to call upon you tomorrow at two o’ck—& as my time is very much engaged at present, I hope I may find you at home & at leisure.” In very good to fine condition, with light soiling and toning.
