DS, fifty-five pages, 8.5 x 11, August 10, 1953. Agreement between Stewart and Paramount Pictures Corporation, in which the latter employs Stewart “ to act, play and perform the leading male role in the motion picture photoplay tentatively entitled Strategic Air Command” and “agrees to pay…as salary, a sum equal to fifty percent…of the net profits.” Signed at the conclusion in blue ballpoint by Stewart, and countersigned by a Paramount Pictures representative. In fine condition, with wrinkling and staple holes. Stewart was a colonel in the Air Force Reserve at the time of filming, and his experience as a B-17 instructor pilot, a B-24 squadron commander, and a bomb group operations officer in WW2 helped influence the film’s noted military realism; the astounding aerial photography earned a special citation by the American National Board of Review.
