American avant-garde composer, pianist, author and inventor (1900–1959) who co-patented a ‘Secret Communications System’ with actress Hedy Lamarr in 1941. TLS signed “George,” one onionskin page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, June 21, 1957. Letter to 20th Century Fox production head Buddy Adler, in part: “Aside from seeing my picture, The Pride and the Passion, the real objective of my last letter was to attempt to get you and Anita up to dinner sometime—this despite the fact that you must now obviously be the busiest man in the world. Upon such an evening we could first of all offer you our old friendship, a dinner (Boski is a famous cook, too), music if you wish it, a house-full of our growing painting collection (from the early Italian Primitives to Toulouse-Lactrec [sic] and Picasso), a wonderful view of the whole city at dinner, and talk. Perhaps it might attract you both; we would be very honored. In any case, Buddy, thank you for your good letter; I appreciate it. May I make the attempt to invite you both to dinner in the near future?” In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
